State of Connecticut Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission

The Hord Foundation, Inc.
Gail Williams, Executive Director
P.O. Box 4671
Danbury, CT 06810

Dear Ms. Williams

As Chairman of the State of Connecticut Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Commission, I am pleased to inform you that The Hord Foundation, Inc. has been selected to receive the State of Connecticut Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Commission Community Service Award.

As Dr. King stated “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. The true neighbor will risk his position, his prestige and even his life for the welfare of others.

The Hord Foundation’s service to the community is without comparison, and we are pleased that by helping others, you have helped to keep “The Dream” alive.

The ceremony will be held in the Hall of Flags at the State Capitol building in Hartford CT. on January 15, 2007 at 11:00 p.m.  At 10:00 a.m. you will also be honored at a reception in the Old Judicial Room, also located in the State Capitol building.

We invite you along with friends and family to join Connecticut as we celebrate the twenty-first anniversary of the National Liberty Bell Ringing honoring the Rev. DR. Martin Luther King Jr.

Thank you for your service to others.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Dennis James King
Chairman
