HORD to award $250,00 in scholarships

The Hord Foundation will award $250,000 in scholarships to 90 black students Friday at 6 p.m. at the Ethan Allen Inn.

Brice Carrington, a California entrepreneur, will speak. Carrington made a career of sound innovation used by such technology companies as Dolby Digital.

Companies supporting the Hord scholarship program include Boehringer Ingelheim, Cendant Mobility, CL P, Pepsi Bottling Group and Union Savings Bank.
